Why ENISE, and why this year

ENISE is Spain’s leading cybersecurity meeting place: every autumn, it brings businesses, public authorities, researchers, professionals and international delegations together in León. This year marks its twentieth edition, a good opportunity to look back and, above all, ahead.

For us, it is more than another date in the calendar. We are part of the Spanish and Basque cybersecurity ecosystem, work continuously with European initiatives such as CyberHubs, and believe the sector only moves forward when those of us in it share what we learn. ENISE is where that conversation happens out loud.

Our talk: “From tests to exercises: people ready before a crisis”

Many businesses already do “the test”: annual training, an online course or a phishing simulation to tick the box. It is a good first step. But when a real incident happens, nobody sits an exam: people have to make decisions, communicate and act under pressure, and that is not something you learn by ticking answers in a questionnaire.

In our talk on Wednesday 21 at 13:00, we will discuss how to move from training that gets completed to readiness that can be demonstrated:

• Why measuring workforce awareness is not the same as knowing how an organisation would respond to a crisis.
• What cyber exercises and cyber incident simulations offer beyond response plans that exist only on paper.
• How to prepare both technical teams and management, and why the first hours of an incident are won or lost through decision-making, not technology alone.
• How to tailor this approach to an SME, without needing the resources of a large corporation.
